Pricing & Usage

AdaL plans include credits for supported language, image, audio, and video models. Credits give one shared usage unit across model providers and media operations.

Max includes 5× the Pro allowance. Max+ includes 20× the Pro allowance.

Annual plans include the same monthly allowance and weekly limit as their monthly equivalent.

Promo codes

You can enter a partner promo code in three places:

1. On the checkout page, when you start a paid plan.
2. On the subscription page, when you change tiers.
3. On the plan you already pay for. Open Settings → Billing, use the Have a promo code? link under your plan card, then select your current plan and press Add promo code to my plan.

Adding a code to your current plan does not change your plan and does not charge you today. The discount comes off your next bill.

A code has to exist, be active, be inside its date range, and cover the tier you picked. You can redeem a given code once, and a subscription holds one active promo at a time. If you have a downgrade or cancellation scheduled, cancel it first — codes are refused while a change is pending.

Student discount

Students get 50% off for 12 months. Claim it at adal.sylph.ai/student-pricing in three steps:

1. Verify email — sign in with your university address (.edu and other institutional domains). Verification lasts 365 days.
2. Activate offer — this grants the STUDENT promo code on your account.
3. Choose & checkout — pick Pro, Max, or Max+, monthly or yearly. The prices shown are already discounted, and the code is applied at checkout.

If you already pay for a plan, the third step becomes Apply discount instead: the code goes on the plan you have, and the discount comes off your next bill.

How usage works

AdaL charges credits when it uses a supported model through your AdaL subscription. The credit cost varies by model and operation.

A task can use different amounts based on:

• model choice
• prompt, file, and conversation context
• reasoning and output length
• tools, retrieval, and caching
• image, audio, or video generation
• workers and sub-agents started by AdaL Engineer

When AdaL Engineer calls supported models through your AdaL subscription, worker and sub-agent use counts against the same allowance.

Weekly limits

Paid plans use billing-anchored weekly windows. Your billing period is divided into four segments. The first three segments are seven days each. The final segment runs from day 22 through the end of the billing period.

The app shows your current usage and the exact reset time for the active weekly window.

Check usage

Run /usage in the terminal or the desktop app to see your plan, how much of this week's limit you have used, when it resets, and your credit balance.

Open Settings → Usage to see:

• your weekly usage percentage
• remaining included credits for the active weekly window
• the reset time
• your available promotional and user-loaded credits

AdaL also warns you in the chat when you reach 70%, 80%, and 90% of your weekly limit.

When you reach a limit

When you reach the weekly included-credit limit, subscription-funded use pauses until the reset time shown in Settings → Usage.

To continue work, choose one of these options:

1. Add credits from Settings → Usage. User-loaded credits are a separate pool.
2. Connect your own provider API key.
3. Bring your own eligible ChatGPT subscription, where available.
4. Wait for the displayed weekly reset time.

Provider keys and connected subscriptions are governed by that provider's terms, billing, availability, and limits.

When a payment fails

If your card is declined, AdaL stops serving requests right away — there is no grace period. You get a 402 with:

Your payment method has failed. Update your card at https://adal.sylph.ai/settings/billing to keep using AdaL.

Stripe retries the card on its own for a few days. Access comes back the moment a payment succeeds. Adding credits does not unblock this — the block is on the subscription's payment state, not on your credit balance. A canceled or never-completed subscription is blocked the same way.

CI and automation

AdaL supports headless mode for scripts and CI workflows.

For unattended shared runners, bring your own provider API key or eligible ChatGPT subscription. Keep credentials in your CI secret store. Do not commit keys to a repository.

Concurrent chats

Individual plans currently support up to 20 concurrent chats. This operational limit may change to protect service reliability.

Changes to models and allowances

Model availability, credit rates, and plan allowances can change as providers change pricing and capabilities. Check this guide and Settings → Usage for current plan details.

Free Trial

AdaL requires an active plan to use the CLI. Eligible new users can claim a 7-day free Pro trial from the Dashboard — if you qualify, you'll see the trial banner after signing in.
